Reaching out to our Foster Children in the Tri-State area
Our Foster Children in this country suffer emotionally in so many ways. But when many of our foster children leave the system, they are left with no real tangible proof of the many memories they've experienced in their lives. One in particular is our daughter who we adopted at age 2 1/2. It wasn't until after her adoption we found that there were no photographs of her first two years. Previous foster families were contacted but no one would ever respond or share any photographs that they may of had. That was when I came up with the need of a Life Book for every foster child placed with our private agency. Now 25, it still breaks my heart when I see all her siblings looking through their photo albums from the time they were born and hers doesn't begin until she was ours. At graduation we had to sadly look for an infant that resembled our daughter because she had no baby photos for her Senior Class Project and she didn't want to be left out. That photo now fills a big void in her album. Sadly I have heard this same story too many times. Then, to my surprise, a couple years ago I found out that after 20 years this Life Book was still in practice and even better than what we started many years ago. Sadly it was brought to our attention that most children's life books were not being updated or poor prints from families cell phones were being pasted in them. I am striving to change this by supporting each Foster Child in the system. Instead of depending on the foster parents to do this, we make it a little easier by working with the agencies and providing these services for each child at no charge. Every child in the system can receieve FREE photographs until the age of 18 that documents their lives from different foster families, to birthdays, special events, holidays, even a Senior pkg. We even provide upon request of the parents, photographs for their Adoption day with their new familes. Each child receives quality professional photographs for their personal Life books and extras to give to their families free of charge. So many children have gone through the system without one photograph. We want to forever change that!

We at Dandelion Wishes work through several organizations where we celebrate life through complimentary portrait sessions for cancer patients going through cancer treatment or in remission or dealing with any life altering chronic illnesses. Our programs enable families to relive happy memories in both times of grieving and Victory.
